Daily writing prompt
What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?
I’m working on a story about baseball. My own personal take. I have some observations about the game that I want to share.

It began as something that I wanted to use as a lesson for students. I realize that there are many Japanese kids that like baseball.
I found out that the number is shrinking though, and soccer is taking over in popularity. I love all sports, so it doesn't come down to any kind of competition for me. I’ll enjoy any sport if it captivates.

…then I would use some baseball vocabulary, and introduce some interesting tidbits that might not be common knowledge to the Japanese youth.

As I was coming up with my ideas, and I was toying around with some ideas, I remembered Abbot & Costello, they performed
Who's on First? .
Perfect. I can use that.
I continued my thoughts, and several months later, or more, I have come up with something.

Then more ideas began flowing and flowing and much too fast, and I couldn't really keep up with myself.

Suddenly, I also remembered, Walter Johnson, and the song/poem by Jonathan Richman. I can use that, I thought. So many ideas so many stories to tell.

Anyways, coming soon, will be T-Ray's series of baseball stories.
Stay tuned, OK.

Well, I’m a gonna tell you if you don’t know.

About a great ballplayer from a long time ago.

He was a hero to me

I’m not putting you on, son,

I’m now gonna tell you about baseball’s great, Walter Johnson.

And all through baseball, he was loved and respected,

Was there bitterness in Walter Johnson,

Well, it was never detected.

-Jonathan Richman
